Intimate Private Property Wedding in Pitkin, Colorado
From the time when Amity’s family started coming to the Pitkin area in Colorado, she knew that the little white chapel was where she wanted to get married. There’s something about a Colorado mountain wedding that invites you to slow down, to be present, to breathe deeper, and to fully take in the people around you. After they started dating and spent many days together exploring the moutains together and Clay proposed in a beautiful flower-filled valley closeby, Clay and Amity knew this was where they wanted to commit to each other in front of friends and family.
Set against the natural beauty of the Colorado mountains, their celebration felt like a seamless blend of timeless tradition and outdoor experience - the kind of wedding that moves gently from one meaningful moment to the next.
A Colorado Destination Wedding Rooted in Intention
Clay and Amity approached their Colorado destination wedding with a clear vision: they wanted the day to feel grounded, relational, and deeply personal.
With guests traveling in to celebrate alongside them, every part of the day was designed to create space for connection. Nothing felt rushed or overly structured—instead, the weekend started with welcoming guests to their small town and sharing a meal together.
A Ceremony in a White Mountain Chapel
Their ceremony took place in a small white chapel tucked into the Colorado mountains, a setting that felt both intimate and deeply meaningful. The contrast of the classic white chapel against the surrounding mountain landscape created a setting that was both timeless and distinctly Colorado.
A Moment on the Mountain Pass
After the ceremony, we stepped away for a brief moment on a nearby mountain pass, and it became one of the most memorable parts of the day.
With sweeping views stretching out in every direction, Clay and Amity had a chance to pause and take it all in, just the two of them. These are the moments that often become the most meaningful. Away from the energy of the day, with nothing to do but be together, the emotion settles in.
Cocktail Hour by the Creek
From the mountains, the celebration transitioned into something more relaxed and inviting.
Guests gathered for cocktail hour along a creek on the property, where the sound of running water and the shade of surrounding trees created an atmosphere that felt effortless and welcoming.
Dinner and Dancing Beneath the Pines
As the evening unfolded, guests made their way down a path to dinner beneath a grove of towering pine trees, where long tables were set for a reception that felt both elevated and grounded in nature.
Dinner was served with fresh, locally sourced ingredients by chef Konuk.
Toasts were heartfelt, laughter came easily, and when the dance floor opened, it filled quickly.
Surrounded by their people, under the canopy of the pines, the evening concluded with their guests laying hands on them and praying a blessing over their marriage.
